10 Month letter

Dear Zane,

Your first month in India went off without a hitch! I am surprised at how quickly you’ve settled in and how much you adore having so many people around. Back in Australia you were very attached to me, now as much as you love hanging out with your mama, you also love spending time with your Indian family and friends.

We started going to playgroup. You’re the oldest baby in the group but you enjoy looking at the other babies and showing them the toys (or sharing the food!) you’ve bought along. I enjoy the days were we get out of the house together, just you and I.

Your vocabulary has exploded but your favourite word is still Dada. You’re still just a little guy at 7.3kg but you’re thriving so we’re not too worried.

Your bedroom / playroom is keeping you very busy. Its been decked out with soft mats and toys that Daddy bought you when you were teeny tiny. Theres also a few things of Ria’s in there from when she was your age. I am a little worried about your aim with the very solid wooden building blocks, throwing everything excites you.

Daddy loves to watch you dance. He plays a song, one verse is “I know I can’t dance but I can dance on ‘ya” and you go wild busting moves. Whenever you’re a little worked up it calms you down.

You high five, shake your hand and say “aaaiii!”, shake your head to say no and crawl at rapid speed while laughing your head off.

The best thing of all is your sweet baby cuddles as you nestle your head under my chin. You’re still swaddled at night and it takes me back to when you were so small and feather light with a head full of soft, downy hair.

We love you so much little guy

xx Mummy
