14 Month Letter
December 20th, 2006 at 8:22 pm (Ria Emily, Monthly Letters)
Dear Ria,
I nearly didn’t get around to this one in time, I really need to pick up the pace! In a few days you’ll have your 15 month letter written so I’ll keep this one relatively short.
The past month has been a very productive one for you. First of all, you’re a full time walker now! You’re nearly running all over the place and you’re good to go on all terrain. Daddy loves holding your hand and walking you all over the place and you’re so proud of yourself.
We finally had your one year pictures done, and this time you actually liked the cake. You ended up nearly eating half of it by the end, I guess you got the hang of it 3rd time round. You just adore the studio and having your picture taken, you’re a pro after the few thousand we have snapped.
A couple of weeks ago you had your first allergic reaction to food. You had rashy cheeks and a bit of a fever, we think it was the fish you shared with Daddy one night. Thankfully you have been fine ever since and we hope this is the first and last time this happens to you, you’re such a little foodie that I know it would break your heart if you couldn’t share something off Dadda’s plate.
On the 6th you attended one of your little friend, Yasmin’s first birthday party. Daddy took you since I was down with a bad migraine but from the pictures and stories I heard, I know you had a blast. Yasmin is one of your favorite people and you nod your head whenever we ask if you want to go and see her, as well as Ruby and Lola.
On the 15th you had your 3rd experience on a plane which was from Hyderabad to Mumbai with Daddy and I, as well as Dadima and Dadaji. We had a look at the new apartment there and spent the day waiting for our flight to Australia. Daddy couldn’t fly with us because his visa didn’t arrive on time so it was just you and I! You made it pretty easy for me though, I had many sleepless nights before the big day simply fretting about how you would do on the plane this time around, especially without Daddy there. You slept most of the time and kept yourself entertained with toys and food long enough for us to not cop any nasty stares from the other passengers.
Once we landed in Sydney, you got a taste of fast food for the very first time. You had a cheesebuger from Mc Donalds, what a treat that was. You couldn’t get enough of the ketchup on the bun and made yourself very grubby. Luckily we don’t have these things at home in India, I think you’d be reeling every time you saw the Mc D’s sign.
After a quick snooze on the plane to Port Macquarie, you got to see your Grandma, Grandpa and Aunty Alison again. They were so excited to see you but you were shy and sleepy which was fine, it was a long day for a little person (and a grown up too!). We saw Great Poppy and Great Nanna afterward and you started to warm up to everyone.
So far you have been having a blast with Grandma’s christmas toys and going for walks. Daddy is coming tomorrow which is very exciting and hopefully you’ll be a little more calm with sleeping at night which has been a problem for the last few days while you adjust.
Hugs, Kisses and Raspberries,
Mama
