For 11 days it is the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Statues of the Indian God, Ganesh are worshiped and then submerged in water.
Tonight we paid a little visit to one of the largest ones after a lovely dinner with Gareth.

Little Ham Chop,
Mummy nearly went off to sleep before writing your 11 month letter! You really keep me on my toes, that’s for sure. This month is a little extra special, you month-birthday is shared with your Grandpa’s Birthday.
You have started to understand so much more recently. When we ask “what does Neo say?” you promptly reply “meow!” and proceed to scour the room for him. You also can say “ta-ta” for your Rahul Ka ka, Nanu for Nandu and “bow bow” for Panther.
You love to bust a move to anything with a good beat, no slow music for you! You stand for such long periods of time unassisted and recently you have started taking steps. Mummy and Daddy are so excited for you to begin walking. I suspect you will be toddling all over the place by your birthday next month.
Mummy got very excited on August 7 because you finally decided it was time to sippy wean. We went out and got you some Nûby cups and you took to them right away. You haven’t had a bottle since, you’re such a big girl now!
Rahul Ka ka had his 21st birthday on the 12th, and you were such a little piggie eating all the buffet food you could muster. What you really had your eye on was the cake, but you’re still a bit too little to be diving into that yet. Just wait until next month kiddo, you’ll have as much cake as your little heart desires.
We also got some exciting news on the 18th, your Aunty Alison and Mark are engaged! We were so happy for them both, and to make it even more exciting you have been asked to be a flower girl and Mummy the Maid of Honour. This will be happening in 2007 or 2008 and you are going to be a good girl, aren’t you miss Ria?
Your new favourite food is Cream of Chicken soup. Both times Mummy has had it, you have nearly eaten half of it yourself.
Mummy polished your fingers and tootsies for the very first time as well. You were not very patient with me, but they turned out adorable. They were a shimmery pink and everyone thought they were very pretty.
Party plans for your big day are underway. Its bittersweet that our baby girl will be having her very first birthday so soon.
Happy 11 months Ria.
Daddy and I love you so much.
Love Mummy.
