8 month letter

My little cupcake,
You’re getting older so quick, I can’t believe you’re 8 months old already. I still remember holding you as a newborn and how you used to frog on me, now you rarely stay still when I hold you. I get a cuddle everyday but it lasts for a minute at the most.
It’s been an eventful moth for you, you’ve gotten to try lots of big girl food now, like baby pancakes that mummy made for you and also idli and khichdi, when we go to restaurants, you want in on the action, so you get to eat yoghurt every time. You also got to try tastes of food off our plates, like egg yolk. You love your food and you love trying new things.
You’ve learnt to say a few more things too, like your name and ‘oh man’ haha, even though you say them only sometimes ( when YOU feel like it ) you’re also a well mannered little girl now, you listen when we say ‘NO’ and you give up things if we say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and oh, you also eat farley’s rusks every now and then, you love your little biscuits, you get to pick one and you do, like I said, you’re a well behaved little girl now.
You got a new stroller this month, it’s pink and pretty and you love it. You’ve become very mobile too. You crawl on hard floor, you bump your head every now and then but you rarely get upset over it, you’re a brave girl. You can pull up on things and cruise around, you love being free to crawl. You also take your own toys out of your toy basket, you sometimes even put them back in when you’re done. You also learnt the sign for milk, every time you’re hungry we can see your little hand go off signaling for milk. You cut your 2 upper lateral incisor teeth and you took it like a champ, we barely noticed they were coming through.
You were an angel for Mothers Day, your Mummy was impressed. We got her a new rocking chair for your nursery and you think its a lot of fun to bite and pull up on.
You’ve learnt how to high five too, it’s so cute, when we say ‘high five’ you put your little hand up and give us a high five. I’ve been giving you shoulder rides everyday too, you love them, you grab my hair and hold on and giggle and smile all the way. If its shoulder rides and being thrown in the air and caught that you love, we also found out what you hate, you’re mortified of mummy’s vacuum cleaner. You can’t be in the room when we turn it on, you cry. You absolutely hate it.
On the upside, you got to go on your first ride this month, it was a tea cup ride and you loved it, but maybe not as much as mummy loved watching you. You also look very girly now in your pig tails, yes! Mummy can finally put your hair in little pigtails and you look like quite the heart breaker. When we take you out, everyone around wants to touch you and we’re surrounded by “awws” and “ooohs” and “aaahs”
This month ended for you with your very first pooja, you’ve been going to the temple every now and then with your dadaji and dadima but this was a full pooja done at home, mummy and daddy had promised to do this pooja if we had a baby and she was healthy and smart and happy, and after we had you we had decided we would do it, so we finally did it and you were a part of it for a while as well.
Well, that was your month, a very interesting eventful one at that. You’re growing into this beautiful, clever, well mannered little girl. We’re so proud of you, for every little thing you do and how your personality seems to blossom everyday just don’t grow up too soon, we’re having lots of fun watching you learn.
Lots of Love,
Daddy.
