4 months

Ria Emily,
Its that time again, a whole new month that has passed us by. You turned 4 months old yesterday & you’re a healthy 6.4kgs (14 lbs)! No wonder you’re getting harder to lug around in your travel system. This month also marked one year since we found out you were on your way. It’s amazing to think that this time last year you were no bigger than a sesame seed, look at you now!
You’ve really started to become mobile in the past few weeks. You roll back and forth and bounce up a storm in your Bouncing Baby Place activity center. Everything you grab has started to head toward your mouth and it’s a little disturbing the amount of slobber such a tiny little person can produce.
Daddy and I took you for your 4 month check up yesterday. You really liked your new Doctor but we’ll see how much you like him when you have your immunizations on Tuesday. Doctor Michael asked us to start giving you a teaspoon of special cereal starting from today. Daddy is so excited to see what you will do with this funny new sensation in your mouth. I must admit that I’m a little nervous, I didn’t want to give you anything mushy just yet but it’s got lots of good things packed into it to help you grow up healthy and strong.
You have started sleeping in your crib at night, Mummy has you all figured out! It took you a little while to get used to sleeping in there but with a little bit of swaddling, your Nature Bearies mobile & a nice cool AC you were good to go. We still have a lot of snuggling time together in the morning after Daddy heads off to work, that is if your Dadima hasn’t snatched you up by then
. You’re a sucker for attention and love spending time with different people so as long as you don’t mind and Dadima doesn’t mind, Mummy could use the extra bit of sleep.
Daddy insisted on buying you another swing, making your grand total 3 now. You do adore this one, it has a big mirror panda, link toys, a dragonfly and a chicken for you to play with. Tummy time has become a fun game now that you can flip yourself over and push your head up so high but you’re scaring me now that you have started trying to do an army crawl and have succeeded a few times. Lord knows the things you’ll get up to once you can zoom your way around the house, its almost time for carpet rugs and safety gates galore.
Daddy and I are so amazed by everything you do, whether it be giggling, playing with your toys or just taking the world in. We couldn’t feel more blessed to have such a beautiful, happy, bright & healthy baby girl to call our very own. We can’t wait to see what you get up to next month, there is so much in store for you and you just love to learn, I hope you’re always so passionate about trying new things.
Love Always,
Mummy
