3 Months Old

Dearest Munchkin,

Another month has flown right by and your poor mother is having a hard time keeping up with everything you’ve done!
You’re growing up so fast, you’re almost out of your 000 & 0-3 month clothing which means I’m going to have to pass on a lot of your pretty clothes I’ve become very fond of. You weigh in at around 5.5kg (12.2lbs) as of last week and I’m not sure how long you are but you’re growing like a weed.

You really enjoy standing up and will do anything in your might to get the nearest person to prop you up for a couple of minutes. Sitting is also a favorite past time now and I’m sure you’ll be doing that on your own very shortly.

On the 3rd you had your first hair cut. As I mentioned in your last letter, your hair was getting so silly looking and something needed to be done. Your cousin fiona cut it after she did my hair and it looks a lot prettier now.

The 7th was very special for your Daddy, you graced your him with the beautiful sound of your first giggle. You allowed Grandma, Grandpa and I to hear it soon after. You got very frugal with your giggling after that and have only just recently started to give us the privilage of hearing it more often.

There were lots of tears shed when we left for India on the 18th of December. Your Grandma, Grandpa, Great Nan, Great Pop, Aunty Ally & Mark all wished us off as we took you on your first ever flight from Port Macquarie to Sydney. You weren’t too sure of it all when we first got on the plane but as soon as we took off it was like you were an old pro. You ate then slept and arrived fresh as a daisy. Your Daddy and I were hoping you’d take just as well to the next two flights that were in store for you and you pulled through like a champ, we were so proud of you Ria.

Once you arrived in India you were bombarded with cuddles and kisses from your Dadima, Dadaji, Ba, Kaka & Uncle Rupen. You too fond of this new place at first but all it took was a nice warm meal and you were babbling, cooing and showing off to everyone. Over the next week you had a lot of visitors and you soaked up all the attention you could get. You’re such a little ham and everybody thinks you’re wonderful just like your Daddy and I do.

On the down side, you got your first cold & it looks like you may be teething. You haven’t been the happy little person we’ve all come to know and love for a week or so now. We hope your stuffy little nose and sore gums go away soon, its hard to see you like this and I know it must not be fun for you at all. You did cheer up a bit for your first Christmas. Mummy had a great time dressing you in your fluffy pink Santa hat that we picked for you when you were still in my belly. You fell asleep at Christmas Eve dinner but woke up just in time for presents! You got some lovely gifts, one of which you have managed to break already but we’ll let that one slide.

Its been one busy month but the best month yet. Daddy and I love you so much and we’re both so proud of the wonderful little person that you’re becoming. Happy 3 months princess

Hugs & Kisses,
Mummy

Christmas

Ria's First Christmas
On Sunday we celebrated our first Christmas as a family! Ria got spoiled rotten as you could expect and slept right through Christmas Eve dinner. She’s already managed to break her Rockin’ Aquarium Gym which was an early present from Rajiv and I bought only 2 weeks ago, shes a destructive little person already.

She also seems to be cutting her first tooth but she wont let me open her mouth to find it. Shes been slobbering up a storm and trying to munch anything that comes within inches of her face.

We also have some visitors this week, Rajiv’s mama & mami (uncle & aunt; his grandmother’s brother & his wife) from Africa. They are very busy people so we are lucky to have them come and spend some time with us. Ria really likes mami, shes got her to laugh which is something Ria doesn’t like to give away too frequently.

Home

We arrived safely home in India on Wednesday morning. The flights went great, Ria is an excellent traveler. She slept for the entire time and woke only to eat and have a look around in the airports.

Ria loves her nursery and all her new toys. I’ve had a great time setting it all up for her, shes a very spoiled little girl!

We’re still busy settling back in and preparing for Christmas and the New Year, its been a very eventful year for us and we’re looking forward to some quiet time ahead.

Going Home

We went to the travel agent yesterday and we have great news, we’re going home!
We leave at 11am on Tuesday the 13th, fly to Sydney then at 3:40pm we fly out to Malaysia and two hours later we will board our flight to India. We should arrive around 12am on Wednesday which makes for a pretty short trip, all things considering.

We hope to catch up with Family and Friends here before we leave but if theres a specific time thats better for you, please don’t hesitate to give us a call and let us know.

First hair cut

Ria got her first hair cut on Thursday. It went very well, she sat still the whole time in her daddy’s lap while her hair was made to look semi normal again. We only had the bottom cut where it was growing down her neck in the hopes that the top will grow fairly fast and begin to sit a bit flatter.

I had my hair cut too, and as much as I’m okay with it I miss my long hair and I don’t know what I was thinking!

It looks very promising that we will be leaving Australia in the next week, two at latest. As much as we have enjoyed spending our time here and seeing family and friends, it will be lovely to go home and have some time with our family in India.
