My beautiful Ria Emily,
Another month has gone by and you’re now two months & 1 day old, how on earth did that happen? Time seems to fly by so quickly as you learn new things and develop your ever growing personality.
This month has been a big one for you. You have started to greet us with your baby babble and huge smiles every day and you’re becoming ever so cheeky. I often wonder how we were so lucky to have been blessed with such a beautiful, happy & healthy baby girl. You now know where all your fingers and toes are and you’re using them to your advantage, probably more frequently than you should. Your swing is still a much loved possession by you and you’ve begun to notice the little star and fishy toys there for you to play with. Your bee rattle is no longer ignored and your little arms have stopped flailing around aimlessly as your motor skills improve. Unfortunately due to your new found legs, your hair is starting to fall out as you push yourself up on your bassinet and shake your head left and right looking for something to play with. Daddy and I have tried our best to save your precious hair but nothing is working so you’re off to have your first ‘hair cut’ this Thursday by your cousin Fiona. I apologize in advance for the potential mullet that could be a result of this but I think anything is an improvement from the patchiness that is your hairline at present.
Grandma & I took you to have your first set of immunizations last week. It was a very sad day for the lot of us, tears were bought to our eyes the second they emerged from yours. You had extra cuddles and kisses from Daddy and I (as if that were possible!) and you slept through the most part of the day and night. Speaking of sleeping through, you’ve amazed us several times by sleeping for longer than 6 hours at a time from the evening onwards. We hope this becomes a frequent occurrence so your daddy and I can have more time together with you.
In the last week you’ve been trying so hard to laugh when tickled and when funny faces are made, I assume you’ll have that down pat in no time at all and the sound will be as beautiful as your smile.
You change so much and grow ever more beautiful as the days go on, every day is more exciting than the last and time spent with you is priceless. Just promise me that you’ll stay my little girl for just a bit longer?
Love always,
Mummy
